NOWTIME Media and Associates present A Celebration of Women Changing America benefit fundraiser concert with Bessemer, Alabama’s very own legendary artist and Tony Award winner Melba Moore. She will be accompanied by the renowned Alabama State University Jazz Ensemble. The event takes place on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in Montgomery, at the Capital City Club!

According to Audri Scott Williams, one of the organizers of this event, “This will be a night to remember! Von Alexander and I wanted to create an opportunity that would honor the brave women of Alabama and our nation who are running for office in record numbers and who will be the change America needs at this time. Having been a candidate myself, I know the challenges these candidates face. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to present Melba Moore and the Alabama State Jazz Ensemble to kick off the First Annual Celebration of Women Changing America Awards Banquet.”

“The evening will be full of surprises and excitement as we honor Melba Moore for her lifetime achievements as an artist and activist for social change. Emerge Alabama will be the recipient of our very first Celebration of Women Changing America Award. Emerge Alabama recruits, trains and provides a powerful network to Democratic Women who want to run for office. In its first year as an organization in Alabama, 28 women from the inaugural class of 2018 ran for offices at every level of government!”
