How to Celebrate Mardi Gras in Montgomery

Fat Tuesday is sneaking up on us fast this year. I swear I only just got my 2019 wall calendar put up. But time keeps rolling whether I’m keeping up or not, and Montgomery is offering us a few things to do this upcoming Mardi Gras. The Downtown Business Association’s annual Mardi Gras Block Party took place this past weekend, but there’s still plenty to do on the actual day itself. Behold! Five ways for you to celebrate in Montgomery this year:

  • Enjoy drink specials at the Tipping Point

Because what better way to celebrate than to drink? Head over to the Tipping Point starting at 4pm to enjoy drink specials and a Mardi Gras-themed menu.

  • Go for a fun run and then…drink

Fleet Feet is hosting a Mardi Gras fun run that will start and end at Leroy, so you can continue to dehydrate yourself after you get back from the short trot.

  • Play trivia on the Leroy patio

Starting at 7pm, Leroy’s trivia is kicking off on their back patio. I personally know the trivia master (hint: it’s me) and I promise there won’t be too many tricky, ultra-specific questions regarding Shrove Tuesday or pancakes.

  • Go to a four course beer-pairing dinner

Common Bond is teaming up with On a Roll to serve a Southern meal this Mardi Gras. They’re pairing delicious local food with delicious local beer. You need a ticket in advance though (and here’s the ticket website!).

  • Wear beads and go to an art reception

Stonehenge Art Gallery is hosting a Mardi Gras art reception from 5pm – 8pm. View the Facebook event for more information.

Of course, you can always check the Events Calendar for more happenings!
